Potty Training

Sooooo Brandon is getting closer to being potty trained!!! This past weekend when we were home we had 1 accident in total! He can successfully go #1 in the potty:) He will even let us know when he needs to go...... and then after he goes he is super excited and says "I peed in the pot!"! We wash our hands and high five as our celebration.

This didn't just happen over night so here is a little back story:

Starting back when he turned 2 in October, he seemed so interested in the bathroom process so we decided to buy a mini toilet and a seat for the regular toilet. (Basically anything you could find for potty training) Well that interest lasted about 1 day.... Even though we kept encouraging Brandon to go to the bathroom on the potty he kept saying "no" then it turned into "NO, I don't want to!" So when I was on maternity leave for Tucker I decided that I would revisit potty training. I kept him naked all morning and that basically turned into a meltdown every time I tried to sit him on the potty. (I tried this 3 seperate times) The end result was him running up to me with a diaper saying "I want this on." So once again I decided that it's not the right time and would revisit when he was ready. So recently we have made some progress......Wednesdays at Grandma's he has been peeing in the potty a couple times so we decided that this past weekend we would go full out with underwear. Finally.... we have had progress!!

Obviously he isn't fully potty trained, but we are getting somewhere:) YAY!!! Cheers to less amount of diapers soon (i hope)

Tucker's Baptism

Tucker was baptised March 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, VA. It is the same church Brandon was baptized at. Tucker's god parents are Auntie Kendell and Uncle Jarred. We had a wonderful celebration with some family and friends! We truely are blessed to have such great people in our lives.

Tucker 3 months old

Tucker is 3 months old and he certainly is starting get quite the personality. He is really tickelish, especially when you tickle his sides and under his chin. The coos, smiles and laughing are the best part about 3 months old. Plus he is so cuddly... it really is so easy to just cuddle up next to him on the couch and take a nap. Those naps are hard to come by these days since Brandon has been running around like crazy. Brandon loves his brother a lot! He will sit next to him and touch him and gets a kick out of him smiling back at him. Brandon also loves to say "tuck stinks" when Tucker has a dirty diaper. It's funny:) We are also working on potty training with Brandon, he has successfully pottied a few times in the potty but has had many accidents! Hopefully by the time summer rolls around he will better trained. Can't believe that Tucker is growing so quickly, you forget how fast they change in their first year of life! Sometimes I would like to just freeze time.

Brandon Counting

Brotherly love

Brandon has taken lots of interest in his baby brother Tucker more than ever before. I think he is starting to realize that this little guy will be playing cars, running around the house and being his "partner in crime"before we know it! He certainly loves to hold Tucker and will actually say "i want to hold tuck, please, please, please" It's so cute:)

A little update on Brandon- he has really started stringing more sentences together and it's incredible that you can have a conversation with him now. It seems like over night that happened. He can also count to 15, we are now working on the ABC's. I must say a lot of the apps on the I-Pad help him a lot with counting and spelling. I think he works the i-pad better than Josh and myself. He actually will play Tiger Woods golf and I'm sure he will be better than his daddy soon.

Tucker is going to be 3 months old tomorrow, it's so hard to believe that he will sleeping in his crib soon:( He has started "talking" and smiling a lot and I love this stage where they start recognizing you and your voice. So precious.

The pictures below were taken Feb. 18, so I'll update some pictures of Tucker tomorrow:) Now that I'm back to work, it's quite hard keeping up with the blog- but I'm doing my best!

Staying in your room

We have recently had some issues with Brandon staying in his bed. He likes to get up about 2 or 3 AM and come down in our room. He sometimes will fall asleep but their are times that he wants to "watch" (watch tv), wants his i-pad or wants a drink. It wears thin on mommy and daddys patience so we have been trying the locked in his room tactic and for the past couple nights its gone well.

Feb. 4th night- Brandon in our room at 2AM, woke up at 4AM ready to go! That next day was mommys first day back to work from maternity leave, AND she started off sleep deprived- awesome. Something has to change!

Feb. 5th night- Brandon came down multiple times as we were trying to go sleep (around 10PM) he finally fell asleep in his bed. Locked his bedroom door and he woke up at 2AM to try and get it out..... then started the 30 min scream fest, which ultimately ended in Brandon going back to his bed to sleep!!

Feb. 6th night- Brandon came down at 3:30AM- Daddy took him up and he stayed in his bed the rest of the night. We didn't have to lock the door.

Feb. 7th night- Brandon slept all night in his bed!

Feb. 8th night- Brandon came down at 2:30AM- Daddy locked him in his room- he cried but ended up going to bed for the rest of the night

I must say this seems like it might continue for some time, but sleeping in our bed is not an option. We are working on it and I think we are making progress- at least i hope!

Tucker is 2 months old!

Tucker is now 2 months old which means a couple things.... mommy has to return to work and he is now ready for 2 month shots:( Such a sad time.....  Tucker has rolled over a couple times belly to back, but it's only when he gets really upset and his body gets super stiff. I must say the best part about this age is when they grab you with their eye contact and give you a super big grin! It just melts your heart.... and now Tucker is doing this more and more as you talk to him. He has also really started to talk as well.

He is getting big (not as big as his brother was) at his check he weighed 11lbs 5oz & 22 inches long. He has also slept through the night (11-5/6) a handful of times- which is always a nice treat!

Brandon has certainly taken on more of an interest of what Tucker is doing.... very concerned if he starts crying, wants to give him is pacifier, burp him, etc.
