Bluemont Festival
Brandon, Nana and Mommy attended the Bluemont Festival today:) The weather was perfect and we had a great time! Brandon definitely has a mind of his own, he wants to be out of his stroller running around like a crazy man (while mommy or nana chase after him). His favorite place was a toss up between the tractors, the toy train or the playground. And he will make friends anywhere- we were at the playground and within 2 minutes he had cozied up next to a cute little girl. (we are in trouble.) He is also at that age now where if he doesn't get what he wants the whole body goes limp and then they throws his body to the ground. It's those 2's that are creeping up on us and I'm starting to see the signs. Haha!

Uncle Daniels Rehearsal Dinner/ Terrible Twos
Uncle Daniel got married on August 25 to Annette. She is from Australia and I'm super excited to have another auntie. Lots of family came into town and I got to meet some of my 2nd cousins on my Nana's side. Caroline who is 3 months younger and Max who is 9 months older were so much fun to play with. I especially loved playing ring around the rosey with Caroline and singing Itsy Bitsy Spider.
On a side note from mommy: the terrible two's are coming out. We are currently not able to go to out to any restaurant for the foreseeable future. Brandon is just not able to sit at the table- so for right we are eating all dinners at home- we hope to return to the restaurant seen at some point! Also Brandon has a couple new tricks. He now climbs out of his crib and can scale the pantry shelves. Yes he disappeared for about 1 minute into the kitchen last night, and I found him at the TOP shelf of the pantry. Just when you think everything in the house is "child proof" you have your almost 2 year old show you that you don't! With the climbing out of the crib, it has now become difficult for nap time. Now we have incorporated a few more walks outside to tire him out- in hopes that he forgets about climbing out- we have been successful a few times. He even will wake up in the morning and instead of his usual "momma" "dadda" that you hear through the monitor, he won't say anything, quietly climb out of his crib, open his door and yell from the top of the stairs "momma". At this point I usually hear the door open and am ready for his move down the stairs. It seems as if these terrible twos are coming on strong..... wish us luck- especially since he is just so darn cute.

OBX 2012
OBX 2012 was definitely a blast:) We had a great time with both family and friends! Our house was at mile marker 12 in Kill Devil Hills in which we shared with 4 other families. Our days seemed to have the same routine- wake up, head to beach, head to pool, nap, head to beach, head to pool, bedtime. Brandon only lasted so long down at the beach before he wanted to go "home." Actually in most cases he would say "home" and start heading back to the house without us. He is a boy who knows what he wants. Luckily we had his cousin Jonny there to keep him entertained for the majority of the week. We are looking forward to our next trip to OBX in which we will have two crazy boys running around. Brandon also turned 22 months while we were at the beach- it really is hard to believe that he will be 2 in just 2 months.

Nana and Grandpa's House
Brandon sure LOVES being outside. We have said that many times- but now when we are sitting inside Brandon will bring you your shoes and say out! He will even hold your hand and bring you where he wants to go- he is very persistant. He also loves looking for the bear, deer, hummingbirds and clapping, telling them "to go!" Brandon also has a new love- the tractor! He has been very unsure of the tractor until this morning when he didn't want to get off of it. We love our little outdoor man!
Dadda's Birthday Celebration
In celebration of dadda turning the big 30- we decided to have a big party down at Lake Anna. We rented a lake house for 4 nights and enjoyed our time at the lake. The house slept 16 so we were prepared to have lots of visitors stay! Dadda's Uncle Doug, Aunt Peggy, Victoria and Liam even made the trip down from Boston to help us celebrate- it was nice being able to spend some time with family and friends. The weather was questionable at times and momma was even getting anxious when we woke up Saturday morning with pouring rain! The rain cleared up (thank goodness!) and we were left with an overcast sky- but let's just say it's doesn't stop this crowd! I had lots of fun on the boat, in the water and playing with all my friends:)
