Bald Head Island

Our Family

Bike Ride!
The Walker Family enjoyed a nice week vacation at Bald Head Island in North Carolina. Other than Brandon and Brooke playing the repeater game the entire week, we were pretty relaxed- lol! Between Brandon saying Papa and Brooke asking to go to the beach or ocean- our heads were spinning.  It was probably a combined 1000 times throughout the week.... no joke.....very persistent children. (but we love them)

The weather was beautiful and the ocean water was unusually warm. Brandon LOVED the beach and the ocean water this year- so we were able to stay on the beach for more than 1 hour- yay!. However when he was done- he was done! He would just lay down with his face right in the sand. I must say- we found it rather hilarious and I snapped a few pictures.

The island only allows golf carts and bikes as modes of transportation- so it was very peaceful. We took Brandon on his first bike ride- which ended up in nap session where all the spectators thought we were abusing our child. I mean if he was uncomfortable- he would wake up right!?! Needless to say- we had a wonderful vacation with the Walker family.

We are looking forward to our next trip to Bald Head Island:)

Future VT Class of 2032!

Had to catch a quick nap!
This past weekend we took a trip down to Virginia Tech in hopes to finally catch the Spring Game..... well we made it down to VT however due to inclement weather the game was cancelled:( We were all pretty bummed but were able to show Brandon where mommy and daddy went to school. We ate lunch at Macados and hit 3 bookstores for some much needed VT apparel. We also stopped by the 4-16-2007 Memorial and took some pictures in front of Burruss Hall. We got some pretty good pictures even though the weather wasn't quite cooperating like we hoped. Brandon was just so excited to run around and was even more excited to see the buses going around campus. While waiting to see if the game was going to have delay we made our way into Cassell Coliseum where Brandon got to meet the Hokie Bird. Mommy was super excited to see how Brandon would react to our favorite mascot! Unfortunately the Hokie Bird falls in the same category as Santa & the Easter Bunny........ good from a distance of 20 feet but any closer- no thank you! We hope that next time he will be more accepting of the Hokie Bird! So we have yet to catch a Spring Game- but we sure had a great time in Blacksburg:)

18 Months

Our little boy is 18 months now and I seriously wonder where the time goes? Brandon had his doctors appt last week for his 18 month check. Usually Brandon is so good at the doctors, however this time Brandon knew where he was once we walked in. From the moment we walked down the hall- the meltdown began! He cried from then until we left. Needless to say the doctor was asking me about all his milestones and I could barely hear what she was saying... hahah. I just kept saying "he is normally not like this"... this was the first time we met this specific doctor too! She probably thought I was lying. But over the screaming she told me that he is doing great:) He is in the 60% for head, weight and height. He has grown about 2 lbs and 1inch since his 15 month check.

18 months old

We now have an 18 month old- seriously where did the time go? Brandon has definitely got the temper tantrum down.. when frustrated he throws his body to the ground and sometimes follows that with a head butt to the ground. (not sure who he got that from- lol) He also loves to wrestle his cousin Brooke when he can, he loves to give hugs and kisses & he now LOVES watching Toy Story. I think we all have that movie memorized by now. His 18 month check is coming up:)

With Jilly- Brandon is very concerned when she is crying
Lots of birthdays are in March so it seemed like we went to a birthday party every weekend. We had lots of fun and Brandon's cousin Jeffrey turned 16! We had a blast going to the paint ball park and then over to his house to celebrate with friends and family. Brandon got to hang out and chase all the kids around in the backyard. He really loves being outside. Brandon has also started the beginning signs of potty training- he will literally answer you if you ask if he needs to poop but he isn't interested in staying on the potty. He is pretty smart, we don't think he will potty trained anytime soon but I'm definitely thinking it will be sooner rather than later. We'll see! His 18 month mark is coming up soon!

Today we visited the DC National Zoo with Kim Terry's family:) We had a really good time and got to see lots of really cool animals. Even though the weather wasn't what we hoped- we made the best of it. The animals that were our favorites were the Tigers, Pandas, Cheetahs, and Zebras. We got to see lots of other animals to include, shrimp, crayfish, starfish, octopus, butterflies, kimono dragon, wolf, ponies, elephants, prairie dogs, monkeys, apes and more. We tried to take as many pictures as we could- enjoy:)
